It’s January 6 and Squirrel for iPhone is out. It lets you view your accounts, enter transactions, check your budgets on your iPhone or iPod Touch. And registered Squirrel users can sync it with their Mac. Squirrel iPhone is available now on the App Store for free!

Ca marche Trés Trés bien par contre il faudrait vraiment mettre un mot de passe sur l’ouverture de l’apli sur l’iphone !
MERCI
Yay downloaded it straight away. Couple of suggestions for future development, add a password or passcode when launching the app and show negative balances in red.
Apart from that it looks good and works well.
Very nice addition to Squirell app, one thing to fix:
When there are lots of budgets in, it stuck when clicking on iPhone Squirell app->Budgets.
Thank you.
I also second Bryan’s request for password protection. This feature also is a must for desktop version. I’m currently evaluate desktop version and was a little bit disappointed with absence of this option. On the other hand application seems to be rock solid and just what I need.
Bon courage !
Positively awesome. Simple app. But works brilliantly.
Password protection would be awesome particularly for iPhone. Friends always want to be playing with it so I need to be able to be comfortable handing it over to them without disclosing my banks balance
Great application but is absolutely necessary to implement a password of protection for iPhone otherwise my wife knows always how much I spend
Yes, you have the iPhone PIN protection to secure your iPhone but I’ll implement a password protection for Squirrel. You don’t want to enter your password each time you use your iPhone if you don’t use Squirrel, and my friends play with my iPhone a lot too!
tried the iphone app, and after a few seconds of tinkering with the desktop app i bought it! lolz
a couple of suggestions though…
1. when account name is a bit long, the balance shown is cut…hope you could make font of the figure auto smaller instead of showing it with “……”
- same with the details inside the accounts, hope i can see the whole figure
2. no check number in checking account?
3. reports by category, by payee =)
4. password
5. i experience some crashing
so far so good though, hope these suggestions and other’s suggestions make its way before squirrel 2.0 hehehe
nice job guys! love the sync which made me bought the product even in development.
Here’s what I can’t figure out… Two guys, in less than a year’s time have not only released an awesome “beta” version, but an iphone app too. Midnight Apps has been working on Cha-Ching 2.0 for over a year now and have been able to release a really sweet buggy-as-hell beta… and no iphone app. So… Axel, you must be one hell of a code-poet, and Dietmar… I LOVE the UI, especially the scheduled transactions, very intuitive.
Still have to play with Squirrel to be 100% sure, but I have used Quicken, MoneyWell, Jumsoft Money 3, and Cha-Ching… and Squirrel beats them all hands down, except for MoneyWell – I’d have to put that in a different class… but I am about 99% sure I’m switching!!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK… you guys ROCK! And IT’S NOT EVEN 1.0 YET!
Oh, and I agree with the passcode/pin thing on the iphone app… and check #’s
An update is coming soon. Bug fixes, running balance, and password protection. The rest is for later
My wife and I are sick of Quicken and have been testing out Cha-Ching and Squirrel. Both have similarities and differences, but so far we like Squirrel better. And the iPhone Squirrel app is awesome too! Thanks!
Feature Requests:
1) Total Budget Spent / Total Budget Allowance
with so many budget categories we don’t want to total them manually… please, please, please add a TOTAL Spent and Total Allowance… possibly just a horizontal bar graph or just digits at the bottom of the budget screen, so that we can see what we’ve spent and what we have left. I suppose you could also create a filter option for frequency (week, month, year, category, keyword, etc.)
2) Check #
3) Password on iPhone app and optional on desktop app
Thanks for the great work so far! We look forward to future releases!
WOW!!! this is just great. i love squirrel!
bye
great work. would be nice to see the addition of a new account type for keeping track of loan repayments. Just bought a house & was thinking how sweet it would be to watch payment progress in squirrel.
This is a great app, but when are the iPhone and desktop apps going to see an upgrade? It’s almost like they released a beta version for both platforms and took a vacation!
Where is the iphone app ???
Not in the app store any more !!
@Jan The iPhone app has been removed from the App Store. It’ll be back as Squirrel 2.0 in a few days.
Will there be an iPad app in the near future? That would me amazing!
