Squirrel 1.1.3 for iPhone & Windows users

At last this much awaited update has been validated by Apple. It fixes a serious issue that could cause a sync to erase all the transactions entered on the iPhone. I you still encounter any issues with this update, please let me know.

I also have noticed that this app gets a fairly good amount of “average” reviews just because it is not as complete as expected, and that there is no version for Windows. I’d like to say to Squirrel does what it’s in its description. It’s a fairly simple app for the moment, and I’m taking all the suggestions into consideration. Furthermore, there is no Windows version because Windows doesn’t have all the cool features Mac OS has, and it would really be a pain for me to make a Windows app. If you’ve switched to the iPhone, you might want to consider buying a Mac to replace your PC. But if you want to stick to Windows, would an option to export Squirrel’s data be OK?

I like Squirrrel for iPhone as it is – ok, I’m using a mac.

Just one annoying bug: If I enter a transaction on the iphone, it ends up in an other account after syncing to mac.

hi!! i´m also a mac user and i´m happy with squirrel for iphone as it is as well.

i confirm the bug that Chriz said, transaction entered on the phone syncs in diferent account at the mac.

    please check that bug!

Keep up the good work! I absolutely love these apps!

I have a suggestion on the iphone app. Can you give us an option under the settings tab to make the app open to a new transaction’s description on a default account? This would take 3 steps out of adding a transaction and make it much faster and easier!

Also for both the desktop and mobile app, make the categories automatic. When it auto fills the description, make it also use the last category used for that description.
Every time i buy fuel at the petro station, it should auto select “Fuel” as my category instead of just defaulting to “other.”

Killer stuff man! Looking forward to the next updates!

@Nico C’est bien la question posée : un module d’export de fichier (CSV, QIF, OFX) par email suffirait-il ?

@pablo & @chris This is a known bug and it is being worked on. If you wish you can send me an email with details and logs, that might help.

@c.briley I’m thinking about it, it could be quite easily done.

I would like to think about all the categories I need firstly and lay those out in a text application like pages. Once finished I then would like to import them as a file into Squirrel instead of creating one by one in Squirrel on the fly. Is this somehow possible?

    2.
Is it possible to create Sub-Categories? For example: Car costs with sub-categories (maybe sub-folders) like insurance, gasoline, service & maintenance, repairs and tax. So I can see the whole category and which of the sub-categories is creating the biggest expense factor.

    Until recently

Can the desktop app sync with two iphones? I need to do a shared budget with my wife…

    -c

  8. axel says:

@StFoldex 1. No, sorry. 2. Tags can be used as sub-categories in the desktop app. They will be added in the iPhone app ass well.

@Ceto Not for the moment, but that’s going to be added.
